A little bit more about me

I have been fortunate to practice the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for 13 years now. Throughout my training, I learned how to be a student as well as an instructor. I traveled all around the U.S to compete and loved the preparation and competing aspects of the sport.The experience I learned from the mat has helped me in my professional career as well. When I run into errors when I am coding, I apply the same problem-solving method I learned from the mat to dissect the root source of the cause. As a programmer, the ability to optimize algorithms and to understand what is really happening when coding is invaluable. Finding an answer on Google, and simply copying and pasting a solution into an application without fully understanding what it does could cause an absolute disaster for a project.Jiu jitsu has taught me the respect for the attention to detail required for stable and optimized code.
